Certificate in Social Ministry

A Partnership between BCM, Malaysian Care and STM.

The Certificate in Social Ministry is designed to provide training to equip lay-leaders, Christian workers and Care Givers who are involved in various social ministries. Credits earned are transferable towards regular study programs in BCM.

Course Schedule

  1. This is a 20 month-program with modules at two-month intervals.
  2. There are a total of 10 modules (whole program).
  3. Each module is 3 credits and runs for three and one half days (Wednesday to Saturday) or over 2 consecutive weekends (Friday to Sunday)

Location of Classes
Classes are held at Malaysian Care Office in Bandar Tasik Selatan, Kulala Lumpur.

Certificate in Youth Ministry

BCM in collaboration with Youth Alive Malaysia is offering a Youth Pastors Program.

The rapidly changing world of the youth in this new millennium has made youth ministry one of the most challenging tasks. There is urgent need to train and develop youth workers for vibrant youth ministries that this generation will respond to their God given call & destiny.

The Youth Pastors Program is specially designed to help pastors, youth workers and leaders to understand the changing trends in the world of youth and to develop effective strategies to reach and connect with them. These practical courses will empower and equip youth workers to become skilful spiritual leaders in regards to today¡¯s challenging Youth Ministry. Students will be familiarized with relevant time tested principles & sound advice.

The courses offered are:

  2. Youth Culture
  3. Youth Leadership
  4. Counseling Youth
  5. Communicating & Connecting with Youth
  6. Preaching to Youth
  7. New Testament Survey
  8. Old Testament Survey
  9. Pentecostal Foundations
  10. Religion & Cults
  11. God, Revelation & Man

The entire program of study can be completed through evening classes to enable many to benefit from this training.

Credits earned in this program can be counted as part of the requirements for the undergraduate or graduate programs at BCM.

Our trainers and lecturers in this program are highly experienced pastors who have been & are actively involved in youth ministry for many years. They also serve in the Youth Alive Malaysia Committee, the national youth department of the Assemblies of God of Malaysia.

Diploma in Counseling Studies

This program is offered by BCM in partnership with Christian Heritage College, Brisbane, Australia, and Malaysian Care.

The program is designed to equip care-givers, Christian leaders and pastors to be more effective counselors by integrating personal growth and professional development. Those with experiences in the area of social work and church ministry but who may not have formal education can enter as adult students. The program will incorporate theoretical reflection, understanding of issues and practical counseling skills, understanding of the self, group processes and theological reflection.

Christian Heritage College (CHC) is a Christian higher education institution that provides fully accredited university level degree and diploma courses. This partnership is rooted in their commitment to help produce effective counselors with a solid Christian foundation, particularly for South-East Asia.

The Diploma is conferred by Bible College of Malaysia only and is not a twinning program with CHC. However, students have the option to transfer their credits to CHC.

Lecturers
Most of the modules will be taught by academically qualified lecturers from CHC or local lecturers who combined professional experience with Christian leadership and service.

Academic Credit
The Diploma in Counseling Studies may be equivalent to one year of full-time study for the Bachelor of Social Science (Counseling) at Christian Heritage College (subject to the entry requirements at CHC).

The credits from this program can also serve as the course requirements for the Counseling track for the Bachelor of Theology program at BCM.

Program structure
The Diploma in Counseling Studies is a two-year modular program that requires 24 trimester credits or 8 modules. Each module is of five days duration, from Monday to Friday.

World Harvest Institute (WHI)

A Partnership between BCM and GTM.

WHI is a six-week missionary training program that was first developed by veteran missionaries, Kevin and Glenys Hovey of Global Training Ministries (GTM) in 1986 within AOG World Missions, Australia. Since then over 2,000 people in Australia, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, United Kingdom and New Zealand, including missionaries who are already in the field, have gone through the program.

Who Should Attend?

  1. Anyone who is involved in missions work in the local church or parachurch organizations.
  2. Those who are planning to be missionaries in an intercultural setting whether locally or overseas.

Academic Credit
Participants who complete the entire six weeks program will earn an equivalent of 12 credits for the undergraduate program with the Bible College of Malaysia. The 12 credits equivalency can also be transferred to the graduate programs at BCM with extra course work and course fee.
