Official Launch

The Bible College of Malaysia, officially launched their 50th Anniversary year-long celebrations at the Bible College of Malaysia's campus on 14 January 2010. The College that started as an Institute with only seven students, today, has witnessed more than 800 students graduating over the past five decades.

On hand to officially launch this joyous occasion was YB Teresa Kok who is Senior Exco of Selangor State, ADUN Kinrara, Puchong and MP for Seputeh. Other distinguished guests present were YB Tony Pua, MP for Petaling Jaya Utara, YB Edward Lee, ADUN for Bukit Gasing and Mr Richard Yeoh, Petaling Jaya City Councillor.

Rev Ong Sek Leang, General Superintendent, AG Malaysia and Rev Ng Kok Kee, President of the School were proud to witness such an historic moment in the School's continuing glorious legacy. In her speech, YB Teresa Kok commended the school of its achievements in equipping over 800 ministers who hold the powerful potential to act as agents for interfaith and inter-racial understanding through selfless service in their respective communities, irrespective of race or creed.

Through this crucial way, they contribute towards the very heart of nation-building. YB Teresa Kok, representing the Selangor State government, handed a cheque for RM3,000 to Rev Ng Kok Kee, to kick-off their celebration events.

The celebration events scheduled to kick-off after the launch will include:

Food and Fun Fair - 28th May 2010
Sport Carnivals - 24th July & 16th September 2010
Grand Banquet Dinner - 29th November 2010

正式展开

2010年1月14日，马来西亚圣经学院正式展开了为期一整年的50周年庆典活动。开创时只有7名学生的学院，在过去的50年里，见证了800多名学生完成装备，毕业进入事奉。

现任雪兰莪州高级行政议员、雪州蒲种金銮区州议员及士布爹区国会议员的郭素沁为这一联串的庆典活动揭开序幕。其他出席的嘉宾还有八打灵再也北区国会议员潘俭伟，武吉加星区州议员李宝霖和八打灵再也市议员杨勇伟。

马来西亚神召会总会长王锡良牧师和学院院长黄国基牧师为因见证学院这一光辉传承的历史时刻而且感到光荣。在郭素沁议员的演讲中，她赞扬学院在栽培800多位传道人上所取得的成就，并称赞这些传道人拥有极大潜力，在各自社区，不分种族和信仰，透过无私的服侍，成为跨种族和信仰的媒介。通过这种服侍，有助于实现国家的凝聚力建设。郭素沁议员同时代表雪兰莪州政府，转交一张3,000令吉的支票给黄国基院長代收作庆典活动经费。

卓越旅程, 宽广前景！

Music Fair

What a night it was on March 15, 2010! As well-known artistes in the local Christian music and performing arts circles came together at BCM's Music Fair to belt out songs and celebrate in dance, they delighted an appreciative 800-strong audience who packed the place to bursting at Glad Tidings, Petaling Jaya.

The Music Fair was the first of four events to be held in conjunction with BCM's 50 Anniversary Celebrations. On hand to grace the event were YB Teresa Kok (Senior Exco of Selangor State, ADUN Kinrara, Puchong and MP for Seputeh) and Mr Richard Yeoh (Petaling Jaya City Councilor).

Masters of ceremony, dapper rapper Liang and Youth Pastor Gwen Choo from Glad Tidings PJ, set the tone for the night with their groovy showmanship and deft introductions of the various acts. A Chinese dance choreographed by Karen Liew got the ball rolling, before Rev. Aris Siew took the stage with a couple of inspiring English numbers. BCM alumnus and songstress, Elaine Teo, then presented two Chinese songs, one of which required the audience to move along to its catchy tune. Up next was the much-anticipated performance by recording artiste, Patrick Leong, who rendered a few solos which beautifully showcased his vocal prowess to the rapt audience.

Not to be outdone, Ian Tan and his choir ensemble comprising members of various churches presented two vocal arrangements, one of which was sung acapella, overlaid with jazzy rhythms and crisp vocal parts. Karen Liew's hip hop dance team next had the audience swaying along to their lively beat before Paul Ch'ng and Ian Tan came on stage to render their slower, reflective numbers in Chinese and English respectively.

Just when it felt like the evening couldn't get any better, one of the evening's stars, Juwita Suwito, took over and transfixed the audience with her powerful vocals on a few songs. With that, the energized audience were ready and raring to go as rapper Liang got everyone to join him in his upbeat rap number. Juwita then returned to team up with Liang in a final duet before the entire cast appeared on stage in a closing worship song with the audience, climaxing in thunderous applause at the end for a night well-commemorated.

Needless to say, BCM's theme, "Remarkable Journey, Promising Future" was reflected that night - a remarkable journey of outstanding music, plus the exciting promise of more future events lined up for BCM's 50 Anniversary Celebration!

音乐汇演
马来西亚圣经学院成立50周年庆典

2010年3月15日晚的音乐汇演实在令人感到惊喜，太棒了！本地基督徒音乐和演艺圈的知名艺人，为马来西亚圣经学院的音乐汇演带来多首悦耳动听的歌曲和精彩舞蹈，他们的演艺吸引了约800名观众到来观赏，使八打灵再也喜信堂座无虚席。

音乐汇演是马来西亚圣经学院金禧年庆典四大活动中的第一个项目。嘉宾包括YB郭素沁议员（雪兰莪州高级行政议员、蒲种金銮区州议员及士布爹区国会议员）和八打灵再也市议员杨勇伟先生。

说唱歌手 Liang 和喜信堂青年团的Gwen Choo牧师 担任大会司仪，他们以时尚的演技来介绍当晚各项表演。由 Karen Liew 牧师所编排的中国舞蹈打开序幕，接着萧健辉牧师唱出两首扣人心弦的英文歌。 BCM校友和福音歌手张秀梅也带出两首中文歌曲，其中一首还邀请观众随着她一起载歌载舞呢！紧接着是艺人 Patrick Leong，他以洪亮歌声独唱，观众们都被他那雄浑高亢的歌声深深吸引，全神贯注地欣赏他的演艺。

Ian Tan 和各教会成员组成的合唱团献唱两首歌，其中之一首以人声乐团呈献节奏明快的爵士音乐，是别具一格的演艺方式。Karen Liew 牧师编的嘻哈舞蹈带动观众们随歌摇摆。接下来是庄振和牧师和 Ian Tan 各献唱中英文歌曲，让知音陶醉不已。

汇演的温度继续攀向高峰，Juwita Suwito，以她浑厚的嗓音把观众带入忘我的境界。过后，Liang 也开始他拿手的说唱，他还邀请充满热情的观众们一起来参与他的说唱。最后，Juwita 被邀回到台上与 Liang 合唱；谢幕时，全体歌手和观众们一起合唱一首敬拜诗歌，高潮迭起的音乐汇演就在雷鸣的掌声中成为美好的回忆。

当晚卓越的演艺节目真实呈现了马来西亚圣经学院今年的主题“卓越旅程，宽广前景”。让我们一起期待马来西亚圣经学院50周年庆所承诺接下来令人兴奋的一连串金禧庆典活动吧！

BCM Day 2010

As the clock struck nine on 28 May 2010, bright-eyed members of BCM's family and an early crowd of guests had already gathered around a colorfully-decorated platform on the college grounds. Amidst the excited chatter, they were eagerly anticipating the official opening of BCM Day, the second of four celebratory events organized in conjunction with BCM's Golden Jubilee this year.

Adding their distinguished presence to the occasion were guests-of-honor, Rev Ong Sek Leang (General Superintendent, AG Malaysia) and YB Edward Lee (Bukit Gasing State Assemblyman), accompanied by BCM's representatives, Rev Ng Kok Kee (President of BCM), Rev Sally Yeoh (Organizing Chairperson, BCM 50 Anniversary Celebrations), Rev Steven Kum (Chairman, BCM Board of Directors) and Rev Alex Soh (President, BCM Alumni Fellowship), as well as YB Richard Yeoh (PJ Councillor). After the welcome remarks by Bro Yee Weng Kim (Student Council President), and the uplifting speeches by Rev Ng and Rev Ong, BCM Day 2010 was declared open, complete with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony and a crowd-rousing countdown.

Approximately seventy stalls were set up that day, representing the various groups and individuals who joined hands to make a success of this year's event. And what a diverse selection of food, goods and services they offered! The Jumble Sale section, always a crowd favorite, presented all kinds of unique and practical household items at bargain prices. A range of professional and entertainment services were also made available for guests, among them, facial treatments and beauty consultations, relaxation massage therapy, vibrant in-house performances and an on-site "café lounge". For kids and fun-lovers, there were around 20 creative outdoor games stalls and of course, not forgetting the mouth-watering selection of culinary diversities - from multi-ethnic Malaysian delicacies to well-known international delights.

Kudos to all the participating churches, organizations and individuals who graciously contributed to the great success of BCM Day 2010. Your loyal partnership and selfless contributions have enabled us to reach our targeted amount of RM100, 000 - glory to God!

We look forward to celebrating with you in our upcoming events: our "Sports Carnival" (Futsal Tournament on 24 July and Walk Hunt Challenge on 16 September), and “The Grand Banquet” on 29 November 2010. 5月28日早上9点正，学院大家庭和嘉宾们聚集在校园中精心布置的大讲台前。在欢愉的气氛中大家同心等待观赏义卖会开幕典礼。这次的义卖会也是马来西亚圣经学院50周年“金禧庆典”四大活动中的第二项。

特别贵宾马来西亚神召会总会长王锡良牧师以及雪兰莪州武吉加星山州议员李宝霖先生在院长黄国基牧师陪同下进场。其他嘉宾包括傅奇珍牧师（五十周年纪念筹委会主席）、甘国梁牧师（学院董事会主席）、苏毅秀牧师（校友会主席）以及杨勇伟先生（八打灵再也市议员）。首先由学生自治会会长余永锦弟兄向大家致欢迎词，接着黄国基牧师及王锡良牧师受邀上台致词。两位牧师激励人心的话语激起了热烈的回应。剪彩仪式在热烈的掌声、哨声以及喝彩声中为义卖会掀开序幕。

今年约有七十个档口参与义卖，各教会与组织代表人士携手同心为今年的目标努力。当天义卖的物品和项目应有尽有，琳琅满目。最受欢迎的“拍卖室”排列了物超所值的日用品，各式马来西亚民族风味的精致美食和国际驰名美食令人垂涎，再加上精彩活泼的舞台节目，更有专业的服务如脸部护肤与美容顾问及咖啡店等，叫与会者目不暇给，乐在其中。与此同时，特别为喜好刺激的孩童及朋友们准备的二十多项富有创意并充满刺激的室外游戏，让大家都能尽兴。

特别感谢众教会、各机构以及全体参与人士历年来的同工及配搭、你们爱心的贡献使这次的活动成功筹募了十万令吉的建校基金。荣耀归主！

BCM 50 Anniversary Celebration: Sports Carnival

Greetings from BCM in the Name of the Lord!

We thank the Lord for the wonderful responses to the first two of our Celebration Events, celebrating our 50 Anniversary - Music Fair on 15 March 2010 & BCM Food and Fun Fair last Friday 28 May 2010. Even though we had to change the day of our annual event from its customary “May 1” date, the response from churches and friends has been tremendous. The total fund raised from the BCM Food & Fun Fair are being finalised, but we have already received in excess of RM100,000 from the sale of coupons and offerings. Praise the Lord!

The next Celebration Event is our Sports Carnival which will be held on two separate dates:

I) FUTSAL TOURNAMENT on 24 July 2010, 8.00am - 4.00pm at Sports Planet, Subang Grand

II) WALK HUNT CHALLENGE on 16 Sept 2010, 8.00am - 3.00pm, kick-off from BCM

These two events will be a great opportunity for young people, and the not-so-young, families, friends, play and fellowship with each other and those from other churches. There are so few opportunities these days for churches to come together and have a time of fun and fellowship.

Kindly place our poster on your church Notice Board and encourage your church members and friends to join us. Both events are organised by the BCM Alumni Fellowship. As such, we strongly encourage our alumni to show up in full force for these events.
